Finance Minister P. Chidambaram today met the chief ministers of southern states and heads of public sector banks based out of south India and discussed a range of issues, including direct transfer of cash for work done under the MGNREGA scheme and disbursal of loans to the agriculture and SME sector.
He addressed a press conference after the meeting. Here are the highlights:

- Southern states doing well on financial inclusion, credit delivery.
- All central subsidies will be transferred to beneficiaries under EBT.
