New Delhi: The government on Monday sought parliament's approval to spend an extra Rs 1.03 lakh crore ($15.43 billion) in the fiscal year ending in March 2017.
In a supplementary demand for grants laid before parliament by the finance ministry, the government said net cash outgo would be Rs 20,948 crore.
The additional expenditure includes Rs 5,000 crore for a rural jobs programme, about Rs 4,200 crore for road construction and Rs 2,000 crore for disaster management.
