Yash is set to return to the big screen with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, and the film has registered a strong response in bookings ahead of its Aug. 26 release.
Toxic has collected Rs 25.71 crore gross in Day 1 bookings across India, excluding blocked seats. With blocked seats included, the total rises to Rs 34.19 crore, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. So far, the film has sold 6,84,556 tickets across 14,430 shows.
Karnataka Leads Advance Sales
Karnataka is leading in Toxic's bookings with Rs 12.74 crore in gross, rising to Rs 15.94 crore with blocked seats. According to Sacnilk's trade analysis, the state has recorded 50% occupancy across 1,835 shows, with 939 shows almost full and 377 filling up fast.
The Kannada 2D version has earned Rs 11.40 crore from 2,68,554 tickets, while Bengaluru has contributed Rs 7.56 crore. Premium formats are also performing well, with Kannada IMAX 2D at 61% occupancy and 4DX at 70%.
Demand is particularly strong in smaller centres, with Shivamogga recording 90% occupancy, Raichur 89%, Tumakuru 87%, Mysuru 80% and Davanagere 78%.
Hindi Version Gets The Widest Release
Based on Sacnilk data, the Hindi 2D version has collected Rs 11.90 crore from 3,52,356 tickets across 11,179 shows. The Hindi IMAX 2D format has added Rs 30.78 lakh, while Hindi 4DX has earned Rs 24.03 lakh.
The National Capital Region is leading the Hindi 2D markets with Rs 1.21 crore in advance sales, followed by Mumbai at Rs 74.07 lakh and Kolkata at Rs 43.84 lakh. Lucknow has also contributed Rs 19.76 lakh from Hindi 2D bookings.
Among the states, Maharashtra has collected Rs 2.04 crore, followed by Gujarat at Rs 1.73 crore, Delhi at Rs 1.41 crore, West Bengal at Rs 1.30 crore and Uttar Pradesh at Rs 1.29 crore.
Other Languages Add To The Total
The Tamil version has earned Rs 54.52 lakh, followed by Malayalam at Rs 20.93 lakh and Telugu at Rs 14.82 lakh. With over 6.84 lakh tickets sold so far, Toxic is gaining strong momentum ahead of the release, while bookings are expected to grow further, as per the report.
Momentum Builds
With strong bookings in Karnataka and steady growth in the Hindi markets, Toxic is heading towards its Aug. 26 release with solid momentum. The advance sales are expected to rise further, setting the stage for a potentially strong opening at the box office.
