Samsung India Electronics recorded a sharp decline in profit in FY26 despite stronger domestic revenue, highlighting a divergence between the company's sales performance in India and its bottom line.
The company's consolidated profit fell 36% to Rs 7,228.1 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, from Rs 11,287.5 crore in FY25.
Meanwhile, domestic revenue increased 9.34% to Rs 65,873.3 crore from Rs 60,243.5 crore a year earlier.

Revenue Growth Fails To Lift Profit
Samsung India's revenue from operations rose 1.2% to Rs 1,11,183.40 crore in FY26. However, total expenses increased 3.54% to Rs 1.04 lakh crore during the year.
The company's overall performance was also affected by weakness in its largest business segment. Revenue from 'Hand Held Phones', which includes mobile phones and accessories, declined 1.35% to Rs 81,472.20 crore from Rs 82,595 crore in FY25.

Samsung competes with Apple in India's premium smartphone segment and faces competition from Vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo and Realme across other price categories.
At the same time, some of its non-mobile businesses recorded growth. Revenue from home appliances increased 3.52% to Rs 12,240.6 crore, while the audio-visual segment, covering televisions and soundbars, grew 8.5% to Rs 8,055.9 crore.
Exports Decline, Advertising Spend Falls
While domestic revenue strengthened, Samsung India's export revenue declined 5.64% to Rs 41,068.6 crore from Rs 43,527.80 crore in FY25.
The company also reduced its advertising and promotional expenditure by 11.9% to Rs 3,850.5 crore from Rs 4,370.7 crore.
Meanwhile, royalty payments to Samsung's South Korean parent increased 7.2% to Rs 3,474 crore.

Samsung India's software development and export revenue rose 6.85% to Rs 2,430.1 crore. The company also continues to operate major research and development centres in Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR.
The FY26 numbers come as Samsung continues to diversify its business beyond smartphones, with televisions and consumer appliances forming an increasing part of its India operations.
