Premier Energies Ltd. on Monday announced it has commissioned a 5.6 gigawatt solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana and started trial production. The plant is spread across 75 acres and can produce four G12R TOPCon high-efficiency modules every 16 seconds. With this capacity addition, the company's total solar module capacity has now touched 11.1 GW, a statement said.
"The new production facility houses one of India's most advanced and highly automated solar module manufacturing lines. The high level of automation not only ensures precision, consistent quality, and superior throughput, but also reduces operating costs and improves capacity utilisation," Premier Energies said.
The plant also incorporates AI-powered fault detection to identify and correct defects in real time, enhancing module reliability and performance. The integration of TOPCon technology with Zero Busbar architecture allows Premier Energies to deliver high-performance solar modules with higher energy yield, reduced optical losses, and improved durability, catering to both domestic and global markets, the statement added.
Topcon, short for Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact, is an advanced solar cell architecture that enhances efficiency and energy yield over conventional solar cells. Topcon cells use a thin, passivating tunnel oxide layer that enables excellent carrier selectivity and low contact resistance, allowing more sunlight to be converted into electricity.
Premier Energies has been undertaking a Rs 12,500 crore capital expenditure program over three years to more than double its solar manufacturing capacity, expand backward integration into ingots and wafers and diversify into inverters, transformers and battery systems.
The company has an order book of Rs 13,700 crore as of December 2025.

Shares of Premier Energies traded 0.5% lower on the NSE as of 12:35 p.m., compared to a 1.3% decline in the benchmark Nifty 50. The stock is up 5% year-to-date.
