Citing alleged violations of the Chandigarh Administration Motor Vehicles Aggregators Rules, 2025, the State Transport Authority (STA), Chandigarh, has suspended the aggregator licence of ANI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., the parent company of Ola, for six months with immediate effect, news agency ANI reported.

The decision according to the authority was taken following multiple complaints from drivers and other stakeholders alleged non-compliance with provisions related to health insurance, term insurance, driver training and fare regulations.

The suspension order was issued by Nitish Singla, Secretary, State Transport Authority, UT Chandigarh, who also serves as the Licensing Authority under the Aggregator Rules.

ANI Technologies, the parent of Ola Consumers, was granted an aggregator licence on Jan. 15, 2024, under the Motor Vehicle Aggregator Guidelines, 2020. The licence later came under the ambit of Chandigarh's Aggregator Rules, 2025.

The company was first directed in July 2025 to ensure compliance and submit a report.

Subsequent meetings with transport officials also reiterated the requirement to adhere to the notified rules.

A committee constituted to assess compliance reportedly found that the company had shifted its Chandigarh office nearly a year earlier without informing the authorities.

The STA said repeated opportunities were provided to address the issues, including a meeting in May 2026 that company representatives allegedly did not attend.

The authority further claimed that ANI Technologies did not respond to a notice seeking clarification on alleged fare-rule violations and other compliance concerns.

Complaints regarding the company's subscription-based model for drivers were also examined.

Following the committee's recommendations, the Licensing Authority invoked Rule 17 of the Chandigarh Administration Motor Vehicles Aggregators Rules, 2025, and suspended the company's licence for six months, ANI reported.
