Finance Minister P. Chidambaram in the interim budget today announced a moratorium scheme on interest payment on education loans, a move that would benefit 9 lakh students.
Mr Chidambaram allocated Rs 2600 crore for education loan moratorium. The finance minister said the details of the scheme would be announced soon.
