Indian Hotels Inks Deal For 100-Room 'Gateway' Hotel In Dehradun

Indian Hotels Co. has partnered with Mohammed Ilyas to bring a 100-room Gateway hotel to Dehradun, adding to the company’s growing portfolio in the region, which includes 17 hotels across Uttarakhand.

Indian Hotels Co. is expanding its hotels business to Dehradun, by adding a new 100-room 'Gateway' brand hotel in the city.

According to Suma Venkatesh, executive vice president in charge of real estate and development at Indian Hotels, “Dehradun's proximity to popular destinations such as Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Haridwar has attracted a mix of leisure travellers, pilgrims, and business delegations driving a significant rise in tourism.”

While announcing the development via a press release on Tuesday, she added, “This aligns with our strategy to tap into high-growth markets. With the addition of Gateway Dehradun, we will strengthen its multi-brand presence of five hotels in the city.”

Indian Hotels has inked an agreement with Mohammed Ilyas, a real estate developer who is also involved in leasing assets. “We are delighted to partner with Mohammed Ilyas for this project,” added Venkatesh.

Ilyas said, “We are happy to join hands with India’s largest hospitality company. This hotel will become a landmark in the region for weddings and large social events.”

With the addition of this hotel, the Tata Group company will have 17 hotels in Uttarakhand, including seven that are currently in development phase.

The hotel, which will come up on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, will have an array of culinary options.

The options will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant offering curated delicacies, and a bar for guests to unwind, the company added.

Additionally, the hotel will also offer treatment rooms, a fully equipped gym, and a swimming pool.

Shares of Indian Hotels Co. closed 0.82% higher at Rs 851.85 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 0.30% advance in the benchmark Sensex.
