'30,000 Litres Of Petrol Saved': Shaadi.com's Anupam Mittal Announces One-Day-A-Week WFH For Employees

Anupam Mittal has announced a one-day-a-week work-from-home policy for employees of Shaadi.com⁠, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to reduce fuel consumption and curb imports by reviving certain Covid-era work practices.

Sharing the decision in a post on X, Mittal said the move could reduce office commute fuel usage by nearly 20% for the company's workforce.

Calling it a “small move” with “real intent,” he said nation-building does not always require grand sacrifices and can begin with fewer vehicles on the road during weekdays.

Mittal also shared an estimate claiming the initiative could help save nearly 30,000 litres of petrol annually by avoiding around six lakh kilometres of employee commuting.

According to the post, the calculation is based on nearly 500 employees working remotely for about 50 days a year.

The announcement quickly gained traction online, drawing thousands of reactions and hundreds of comments.
