Amid the US claims that it is winning the war against Iran decisively, devastatingly, and without mercy, one of Iran's top national security officials, Ali Larijani, has claimed that 500 American troops have been killed in the last few days.
The claim comes even as America revealed the names of four soldiers killed in the conflict between the United States—Israel and Iran which entered its fifth day on Wednesday.
"Mr. Trump, swayed by Netanyahu's clownish antics, has dragged the American people into an unjust war with Iran. Now he must calculate: with over 500 American soldiers killed in just the past few days, does America still come first—or Israel?," said Ali Larijani in a post on X.
He further stated that the story continues and the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei will exact a heavy price from you. "God willing."

However, according to the US, so far four soldiers have been killed, and they died when a drone hit a command centre in Port Shuaiba in Kuwait. They were members of the Army Reserve from different states.
Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll said their sacrifices will never be forgotten. “These men and women all bravely volunteered to defend our country, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.”
President of the United States, Donald Trump, while acknowledging the killing of these soldiers, said that, “Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That is the way it is.”
The US has suffered damage on many fronts, including severe damage to its state-of-the-art Radar system in Qatar, which was also hit by an Iranian drone.
Experts said that the US troops were left temporarily “operationally blind” in the wake of the damage to the radar system.
Ali Larijani, who is also seen as a power broker, is one of the few people late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei trusted to ensure the regime's survival, the DW reported.
After only 24 hours of the US-Israel strikes on Tehran, he took to the national television and the social media and blamed the US and Israel for setting “the heart of the Iranian nation ablaze”
“We will burn their hearts. We will make the zionist criminals and the shameless Americans regret their actions,” he said, in a statement that was in contrast to his “pragmatic” image internationally.
During his political career, which has spanned well over a decade, he has established himself as a ruthless power broker within the regime and as a competent negotiator dealing with Russia, China, and even the US.
