The popular television series Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu is set to make a comeback to the small screen after more than two decades. Actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani, who played the iconic role of protagonist Tulsi Virani, is geared up to reprise her role in the second season.
The show, which aired from 2000 to 2008, completed its 25th anniversary on July 3.
Ekta Kapoor recently revealed the first glimpse of the second season of the classic, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, allowing a sneak peek into the first look of Smriti Irani.
Irani will portray the iconic character of Tulsi years later. Star Plus also revealed the release date of the family drama in a promo featuring Smriti Irani. The promo video showed her offering water to the Tulsi plant.

The show is set to premiere on July 29 at 10:30 p.m., returning to its original timeslot. It will also stream on JioHotstar.

In the promo, Irani is seen assuring the fans that she will certainly make a comeback in the reboot. "Zaroor aaoongi. Kyunki itne saalon ka rishtha jo hai. Waqt aa gaya hai aapse phir milne ka (I will definitely come back. It's a years-long bond after all. It's time to meet you all once again)" she says.

According to reports, Amar Upadhyay, who is reprising the protagonist, Mihir Virani, has also commenced shooting for the show. It remains to be seen which other characters the makers will bring back.
