Actor Trisha Krishnan's Chennai home witnessed a tense situation after a bomb threat was reported on Tuesday morning. The alert came through an email sent to the city control room, claiming that explosives had been planted at her residence in Teynampet, reports said.
Soon after receiving the message, the police acted quickly. As the Times of India report, teams from the Teynampet police station, along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and sniffer dogs, reached the spot and began a detailed search of the house. Officials checked the entire premises carefully to rule out any danger.
After several hours of inspection, the police confirmed that no explosives were found and declared the threat to be a hoax. Although nothing suspicious was discovered, the incident created concern due to the seriousness of the claim.
Investigators also found that the same email ID may have been used earlier to send similar threats to the homes of actors Rajinikanth and Dhanush in Chennai's Poes Garden area. This has raised suspicions that the threats could be connected.
Following the incident, a case has been registered and the Cyber Crime Wing has started an investigation to trace the sender. Officials said that tracking such emails can be difficult as they are often sent using VPNs or other methods to hide identity, but efforts are ongoing.
This is reportedly not the first time Trisha has received such a threat, as a similar hoax incident was reported last year as well. Authorities are now treating the matter seriously, especially since there has been a recent rise in such false threats targeting celebrities and even government locations.
Police have assured that strict action will be taken once the person behind the email is identified.
On the work front, Trisha continues to stay busy with multiple projects. She will next be seen in a fantasy action film, Vishwambhara, alongside Chiranjeevi, as well as in the action-thriller film Karuppu starring Suriya, directed by R.J. Balaji.
A leading face in both Tamil and Telugu cinema, the actress continues to seamlessly juggle mainstream entertainers and performance-driven projects. Over the years, she has carved out a remarkable career, earning multiple accolades, including five Filmfare Awards South, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and a Nandi Award.
