Samsung Likely To Unveil Tri-Fold Smartphone At July 9 Event: Key Specifications, Features, And More
Samsung's tri-fold smartphone is likely to be released later this year.

Samsung is expected to unveil its first tri-fold smartphone alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. These next-gen foldables are expected to be made public at the event on July 9, along with the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
While the tri-fold phone could be shown at the event, its release is likely planned for later this year. The company may also share new details about its Android XR headset, known as ‘Project Moohan,’ during the same launch.
The news has generated significant buzz about Samsung’s entry into the tri-fold smartphone market. Before Samsung, Huawei’s Mate X3 Ultimate gained recognition as the first popular tri-fold smartphone to reach the market. With the potential launch, Samsung would mark its entry into the growing segment of advanced multi-fold smartphones.
According to a tip from Weibo user Instant Digital, Samsung may reveal its first tri-fold phone at the upcoming July 9 event. Reports indicate that the model could be known as the Galaxy G Fold.
The main attraction of this event will also be Samsung’s upcoming launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 smartphone models. Samsung may showcase the rumoured Galaxy G Fold on July 9, but users will have to wait some time until they can buy this smartphone. Earlier this year, the Galaxy S25 Edge was teased before its release in May. Likewise, the tri-fold phone is tipped to debut in October.
At present, details about Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone remain limited. However, the South Korean smartphone maker has shown off several foldable concepts in recent years. People have been using Samsung’s prototypes, Flex Slidable, Flex S, and Flex G panels, as a reference for what to expect from the brand’s new lineup.
A report by Gadget 360 also highlighted that the tri-fold Galaxy G Fold could cost over $3,000 (around Rs 2.56 lakh), making it one of the most high-end phones in the market. The device is also rumoured to feature a silicon-carbon battery, which could offer improved performance over traditional lithium-ion batteries.
