X (formerly Twitter) is reportedly facing a service disruption in services, after users flagged issues related to feed loading, login failures and app access. The outage appears to have impacted users across regions, with many unable to refresh timelines or access key features on the platform, according to news websites. According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, outage reports of the social media platform flagged by users surged sharply within a short time window.
Data indicates a spike with hundreds of reports in the afternoon on Thursday, April 2, suggesting a widespread issue rather than isolated glitches. Most of the usercomplaints were linked to the app experience, followed by problems with feed or timeline refresh and website access. X has not issued an official statement acknowledging the outage or a timeline for the fix.

It remains unclear whether the issue is related to server downtime, backend updates or network disruptions. The sudden surge in reports indicates that the disruption happened abruptly and not gradually. It is still uncertain whether the outage is worldwide or confined to specific areas. Service interruptions on social media networks are typically rectified within a few hours, contingent upon the technical issue.
What can users do?
Users facing issues can wait for updates and refrain from multiple login attempts during the interruption. They can try basic troubleshooting steps such as restarting the app, clearing cache or switching networks. However, if the outage is server-side, these steps may not resolve the problem immediately. The situation is expected to stabilise as the platform works toward restoring services.
'X' faced disruption in March
X experienced a short disruption in India. Earlier on Wednesday, Downdetector indicated that users encountered issues with the social media platform, as they were unable to access their feeds and links shared from it. On March 18, around 8:17 PM, a total of 1,227 reports of outages were documented across India. In the following interval until 8:30 PM IST on Downdetector, more than 4,500 users reported an outage.
