Google Pixel 10 Vs. Pixel 9: Expected Improvements In Features And Other Key Details

A comparison between the Google Pixel 10 and Pixel 9 indicates several significant changes in key features in the latest version. According to rumours about Google's much-anticipated smartphone, the entry-level model is expected to undergo notable updates that may clearly distinguish it from the previous version.

Ahead of the Made by Google event scheduled for Aug. 20, here’s a preview of how the Pixel 10 compares to the Pixel 9.

Previously, the Pixel 9 experienced a price increase compared to the Pixel 8, with its price reaching $799. Reports indicate that the entry-level Pixel is unlikely to see further price rises this year. The Google Pixel 10 is expected to be available at a starting price of $799 (nearly Rs 69,845).

Several renders of the Pixel 10 reveal that the signature camera bar is set to return on the flagship model. The overall design appears nearly identical to that of the Pixel 9, with hardly any significant visual differences.

The Pixel 10 will reportedly be equipped with a 6.3-inch Actua screen, the same size as its predecessor. When it comes to colours, rumours suggest the Pixel 10 will be available in Obsidian, Indigo, Frost, and Limoncello. This contrasts with the Pixel 9’s options of Obsidian, Porcelain, Winter Green and Peony. 

The camera setup may represent the most significant change between the Pixel 10 and Pixel 9. While the current model features a dual rear camera system with a 50 MP main sensor and a 48 MP ultrawide lens, the Pixel 10 will reportedly see a reduction in the resolution on some of its cameras. 

However, it is expected that Google will introduce a third lens on the new model, adding a telephoto camera. This telephoto lens is said to be a 10.8 MP sensor offering a 5x optical zoom.

According to leaked specifications, the Pixel 10 is expected to come with a 4,970 mAh battery, a slight increase over the 4,700 mAh capacity found in the Pixel 9. 

Leaked images of the Pixel 10 on a wireless charger suggest that Google is incorporating magnets into the device to support Qi2 wireless charging.

This enhancement could offer improved wireless charging capabilities compared to its predecessor.

The Pixel 10 is expected to come with the Tensor G5 chip. It will offer enhanced performance compared to the Pixel 9’s Tensor G4. The Pixel 9 has already been updated to Android 16. Consequently, the Pixel 10 is likely to come with Android 16 pre-installed.
