New Delhi is set to host one of its biggest technology gatherings yet, with the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to run from Feb. 16–20. The event is expected to position India firmly at the centre of the global artificial intelligence conversation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, will formally launch the summit on Feb. 19. Around 20 heads of state and top global AI leaders are expected to attend, underlining the summit's geopolitical and technological significance.
Among the headline speakers are Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Industry leaders, such as Bill Gates and Nandan Nilekani, are also slated to participate. A high-level CEO roundtable with the prime minister is expected, with Tata Sons Chairperson N Chandrasekaran and Bharti Enterprises Chairperson Sunil Mittal likely to be part of the discussions.
A key highlight will be India's showcase of its indigenous AI capabilities. Startups like Sarvam and Aronix are expected to unveil small, India-focused language models, signalling a push toward application-specific and locally relevant AI systems.
The summit will also see additions to India's common compute stack and is set to mark the culmination of IndiaAI Mission 1.0. The government is expected to roll out IndiaAI Mission 2.0 within the next five to six months.
A leaders' declaration and the high-level Global Partnership on AI Council meeting on Feb. 20 are among the major outcomes to watch. Big-ticket announcements from global tech firms are also anticipated during the five-day event.
