The 16th edition of the ICC Under-19 World Cup begins Friday, Jan. 15 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. India will open their campaign against the USA in a Group A fixture. India will be looking to regain the title this time after finishing runners-up in the 2024 edition, where they lost the final to Australia. India U19s have lifted the trophy on five occasions, followed by Australia, who have won the title four times.
This edition of the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup is being held in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The final is scheduled for Feb. 6.
In the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026, India will be led by Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings prodigy Ayush Mhatre, who rose to prominence with his performances in the Indian Premier League. He will be joined by Bihar-born Rajasthan Royals talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has drawn attention since his record-breaking century against the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025.
The squad also features promising batters Aaron George and Vihaan Malhotra, while the tall fast bowler Deepesh Devendran will be another player to watch.
India are placed in Group B with the USA, Bangladesh, and New Zealand.
