Mumbai City FC head into Round 10 of the Indian Super League on the back of their first defeat of the campaign, a 0-2 loss to FC Goa that exposed rare vulnerabilities. Their forward line struggled to impose itself, lacking the clinical edge that had defined their unbeaten start, while their defence, that had been the league's best until that point, conceded twice at Fatorda.

Their hosts, Bengaluru FC, were held to a chaotic 3-3 draw away to East Bengal in their last outing. The Blues took the lead thrice but couldn't hold on as the Red & Gold Brigade snatched a draw in the 97th minute. The fact that East Bengal played with 10 men for over an hour, highlights Bengaluru's defensive troubles despite their dynamic attack.

The ISL table remains tightly poised heading into the final four games of the season. Mumbai are second with 18 points, just two behind leaders Mohun Bagan. Bengaluru FC sit fifth with 15 points, behind FC Goa (16 pts) and East Bengal (15 pts) who have played a game less.

With the league operating under a single-leg format this season, with the leader after Round 13 crowned champion, there is absolutely no margin for error. A win for Bengaluru would pull them into the top three and expand the title race into a four-team contest in the closing rounds.

From a tactical standpoint, Petr Kratky's side were outplayed against FC Goa with the team managing just two shots on target. Jorge Pereyra Diaz returned from injury in the last game, but didn't affect the game much. He'll be eager to make an impression against his former side Bengaluru. Meanwhile Jorge Ortiz continues to be unavailable.

Bengaluru, under Renedy Singh, have a relatively full strength squad available, with Sunil Chhetri's experience complementing the attacking thrust of Ryan Williams and Brian Sánchez.
