PM Modi To Inaugurate Kartavya Bhavan Today: Delhi Police Issues Traffic Advisory, Check Routes To Avoid

Traffic around Kartavya Path and C-Hexagon will be disrupted between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Wednesday due to PM Modi's event.

Traffic movement in parts of central Delhi, specifically in the India Gate Circle area, is expected to be disrupted during evening peak hours on Wednesday due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public address at Kartavya Path. Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters ahead of PM Modi’s public event to be held at Kartavya Path, near India Gate.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate Kartavya Bhavan, a major part of the Central Vista redevelopment project. The day's programme will conclude with a public address by the Prime Minister at 6:30 p.m. at Kartavya Path.

In light of these events, traffic restrictions will be in place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. across various routes in central Delhi, especially in and around Kartavya Path and the C-Hexagon area near India Gate. Authorities have urged commuters to avoid the stretch during the restricted hours and to plan their travel accordingly.

Roads To Avoid

Motorists are advised to steer clear of the following roads (including roundabouts) and surrounding areas:

  • Janpath

  • Maulana Azad Road

  • Mansingh Road

  • Rajender Prasad Road

  • Jaswant Singh Road

Any vehicle found parked on these roads will be towed and penalised. Towed vehicles will be placed at the Traffic Pit near Bhairo Mandir on Bhairon Marg.

Diversion Points

Traffic diversions will be enforced at:

  • Roundabout Moti Lal Nehru Place

  • Roundabout Mansingh Road

  • Roundabout Jaswant Singh Road

  • Roundabout Windsor Place

Commuter Advisory

Commuters have been asked to use public transport to reduce congestion in the affected areas. Specific advice includes:

  • Avoid the Pragati Maidan tunnels leading to India Gate.

  • Plan extra travel time if heading to ISBTs, railway stations, or the airport.

  • Bypass restricted roads and follow designated diversion routes.

General Instructions

Motorists have been asked to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed at various intersections and follow all signs and directions to help maintain order. Patience and adherence to traffic rules are essential for a smooth flow of traffic during the event.

The Delhi Traffic Police has also asked the public to stay informed through official traffic updates and social media handles for any last-minute changes.
