NDTV Indian Of The Year Awards: Full List Of Winners

NDTV’s prestigious Indian of the Year Awards returned in 2024. The flagship award went to India's polling booth officers, who played the critical role of conducting a free and fair election during this year's Lok Sabha elections -- the largest democratic exercise in history.

The 'Breakout Celebrity Of The Year' was awarded to Shalini Passi, a Delhi-based art and design collector whoe gained popularity through her appearance on Netflix's Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.

The 'Youth Icon Of The Year' went to Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, while the 'Actor Of The Year' was awarded to Rajkummar Rao.

Comedian and showrunner Kapil Sharma was awarded 'Global Entertainer Of The Year'.

NDTV recognized and celebrated the achievements of outstanding Indians across 14 diverse categories, showcasing the brilliance, dedication, and impact of our nation's best after an exhaustive and meticulous selection process.

Here's the full list of winners:

• Judiciary: Justice AK Sikri, former judge of the Supreme Court of India.

• Armed Forces: Admiral Karambir Singh, former Chief of the Naval Staff.

• Bureaucracy: UK Sinha, former chairman of SEBI.

• Art and Entertainment: Asha Parekh, actor and Piyush Pandey, advertising veteran.

• Non-voting – Sanjeev Goenka, founder and chairman of RPSG Group.

• Non-voting – NDTV representative.

Since 2003, when NDTV launched the first ever Indian of the Year, the event has become synonymous with recognizing those Indians – individuals, organizations and institutions – who have contributed to the idea and identity of India in one way or the other, whose contributions to the country have strengthened the foundation of our society.

The awards have recognized the unsung hero in the same breath as the most celebrated and the focus has always been on the extraordinary work.
