It posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 489.33 crore in the year-ago period, a regulatory filing stated.

Its total income rose to Rs 6,847.02 crore in the quarter from Rs 6,671.25 crore a year ago.

Morgan Stanley On Q3 Earnings So Far

  • Revenue, EBITDA, and net profit growth stood at 9%, 14%, and 11% YoY, respectively, so far
  • Average EBITDA margin is 23%, in line with analysts' estimates
  • 34 Nifty stocks have reported revenue growth of 9% (2ppt above estimate) and net profit growth of 6% (8ppt above analysts' estimates)
  • Half of coverage universe that have reported so far have surpassed analysts' estimates
  • In broader market - 1887 companies - reported revenue and net profit growth of 11% and 14% YoY, respectively, and margin expansion of 53bps
  • Profit growth was strongest for Oil PSUs, Metals and Public Sector Banks and Capital Goods
  • Cement and Autos (led by Tata Motors PV) reported profit declines
  • Comm Services, PSU Banks and Metals led the beats vs. our analysts' expectations, while Utilities lagged
