With existing popularity, things changed further with Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. His character, Jameel Jamali, usually referred to as Jameel Chacha, became an internet sensation. The film's huge success helped Rakesh Bedi gain immense fame. As per reports, he was paid between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 70 lakh for his role in the film.

Rakesh Bedi also gained extensive popularity because of Ranveer Singh's praise and Rs 500 crore claim. Bedi revealed that Ranveer Singh had said, "If the film makes Rs 1,000 crore at the box office, then Rs 500 crore will be because of Rakesh ji."
