O'Romeo Box Office Day 5: Shahid Kapoor Starrer Adds Rs 5 Crore, Crosses Rs 60 Crore Worldwide

Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri's O'Romeo continues its theatrical run with steady numbers at the box office, crossing the Rs 60 crore mark globally within its first week. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the romantic action drama — which released on February 13 ahead of the Valentine's Day weekend — has collected around Rs 40 crore in the domestic net market after five days.

According to trade estimates, the film added approximately Rs 5 crore on Day 5, taking its India total to just under the Rs 40 crore mark. The India gross stands at over Rs 46.75 crore, while the overseas market has contributed more than Rs 15 crore, pushing the worldwide total to about Rs 61 crore. While some industry trackers have reported slightly lower global figures, the film's international performance has provided a strong boost to its overall business.

Nadiadwala Grandsons shared a social media post, "Grateful for the steady love and support from audiences everywhere! The journey of O'Romeo continues in cinemas."

O'Romeo opened to a solid start with around Rs 8.5–9 crore on its first day and witnessed a sharp jump on Saturday with collections crossing Rs 12 crore. After the initial weekend momentum, the film saw the expected weekday dip, earning under Rs 5 crore on Monday before stabilising on Tuesday. Night shows have recorded the strongest occupancy so far, indicating sustained audience interest despite mixed reviews.

The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial has already surpassed the lifetime collections of several Shahid Kapoor films, including Badmaash Company, Phata Poster Nikla Hero and his previous release Deva. It has also edged past the lifetime domestic total of Rangoon, marking another notable collaboration success for the actor-director duo, who previously delivered Kaminey and Haider. However, it remains to be seen whether O'Romeo can match the global totals of those two critically acclaimed titles.

The film currently faces limited box-office competition, though smaller releases have marginally affected its screen share. Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and based on Hussain Zaidi's Mafia Queens of Mumbai, the project blends Bhardwaj's signature poetic storytelling with a more mainstream, high-energy treatment. The filmmaker has also composed the film's music.

Apart from Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the ensemble cast includes Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, Disha Patani and Farida Jalal.
