Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has confirmed that he will reunite with filmmaker Priyadarshan for the director's landmark 100th film. The announcement marks a special moment in their decades-long association, which has produced several memorable films.
Sharing the update on X, Mohanlal expressed gratitude about being part of the milestone project. “Some milestones do not belong to one person alone. They belong to everyone who stood close enough to witness the journey,” he wrote. Reflecting on Priyadarshan's journey, he added, “My dearest Priyan is stepping into his 100th film, and I find myself without words for what that truly means to me.”
The actor went on to highlight the significance of the achievement, saying, “A hundred films is not just a number. It is a lifetime of stories told with passion, countless mornings driven by belief in the magic of cinema, and a journey of unwavering dedication that I have had the privilege of witnessing up close.” Calling the opportunity special, Mohanlal added, “I am deeply honoured to be a part of this journey. Some moments are not meant to be explained, only felt and held close with gratitude.”

The upcoming film is particularly significant as it completes a full circle in Priyadarshan's career. His early work, including his debut phase, also featured Mohanlal in the lead. Speaking about the reunion in the video shared by the actor, Priyadarshan said, “My first film, as well as the first script I ever wrote, had Mohanlal as the lead. Now, my 100th film would also feature Lal in the lead role, which is something rarer than even a blue moon.”
He further emphasised that having the same actor headline both his first and 100th films is a rare feat. Mohanlal echoed the sentiment, noting that such a moment goes beyond rare, underlining the significance of the collaboration.
The yet-untitled film will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, with Binu George Alexander attached as co-producer. While plot details remain under wraps, Priyadarshan has indicated that the film will be a complete entertainer blending music, drama, and action.
Mohanlal and Priyadarshan have delivered several iconic films together over the decades, including Chithram, Vandanam, and Kalapani, leaving a lasting imprint on Malayalam cinema.
On the work front, Mohanlal is gearing up for Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, while also working on his next project with filmmaker Tharun Moorthy.
Priyadarshan, meanwhile, has a packed slate this year. His Hindi horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, is set for an April 2026 release. He is also working on the thriller Haiwaan, featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, while also planning Hera Pheri 3.
