The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to release the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 this week. Candidates who passed the personality test round can view their result on the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in. The final merit list will feature the names of candidates chosen for India's prestigious civil services.
Those who make the cut will be appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service, Indian Trade Service, and various other Group A and B central services.
The interview sessions commenced in January 2026 at the Union Public Service Commission headquarters in Delhi. The interview, along with the personality assessment, were valued at 275 marks (without any specific minimum qualifying score).

Step 2: On the main page, look for the link ‘UPSC CSE Results.'
Step 3: Click on the link and enter your login details.
Step 4: Your scorecard will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Save the scorecard card for later use.

Total vacancies
In 2025, the Commission announced 979 vacancies for various posts in the civil services. The commission had publicised 1,105 positions in 2024, while 1,105 vacancies were declared in 2023, 1,011 in 2022, and 712 in 2021.
The total number of positions to be filled through the examination includes 38 positions set aside for individuals with benchmark disabilities. Of these, 12 positions will be allocated to candidates with blindness and visual impairments; seven positions for those who are deaf or hard of hearing; 10 positions for those with locomotor disabilities, which include cerebral palsy, individuals cured of leprosy, those with dwarfism, victims of acid attacks, and muscular dystrophy; while nine positions will be designated for candidates with multiple disabilities.

Selection procedure and last year's topper
The selection procedure involves three phases: Preliminary, Mains, and the Personality Assessment (Interview). The conclusive merit list is generated based on candidates' performance across all three phases.
