The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is accepting applications for the position of CAPF (Central Armed Police ForcesAssistant Commandant 2026. Interested candidates are required to visit the UPSC's official website to submit their applications.

The Union Public Service Commission has announced a total of 349 vacancies, which includes 106 for the Central Reserve Police Force, 108 for the Border Security Force, 70 for the Central Industrial Security Force, 53 for the Sashastra Seema Bal, and 12 for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

Minimum age and educational eligibility criteria

The minimum age criteria is set at 20 years, while the upper limit is 25 years (candidates should be born not before August 2, 2001, and no later than August 1, 2006). Additional age relaxations will be permitted in accordance with the regulations. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree from any accredited university.

Exam Fee for UPSC CAPF 2026

Rs 200 for general category and Other Backward Classes, while it is free for females and other specified categories. Payment will be processed online.

Physical Test Requirements

Male: Height must be 165 cm, and chest dimensions should range between 81 cm and 86 cm. The 100-metre sprint should be completed within 16 seconds, and the 800-metre run in 3 minutes and 45 seconds. Long jump must cover 3.5 metres (3 attempts) and shot put (7.5 kg) should reach 4.5 metres.

Female: Height requirement is 157 cm. The 100-metre sprint must be finished in 18 seconds, and the 800-metre run in 4 minutes and 45 seconds. Long jump must reach 3 metres (3 attempts).

Application Dates

The application period, which commenced on February 12, will conclude on March 12, 2026. The examination is provisionally scheduled for July 19.

Steps to enroll for the UPSC CAPF Exam 2026

Step 1: Navigate to the official webpage at upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the notification link for "CAPF Assistant Commandant 2026."

Step 3: Carefully review instructions and details.

Step 4: Choose "Apply Online" and complete the registration procedure.

Step 5: Fill the application form, upload the necessary documents, and pay the fee.

Step 6: Finalise the application form and either download or save the confirmation page for later reference.
