(Bloomberg) -- President-elect Donald Trump has narrowed his search for Director of National Intelligence to three choices: retiring-Senator Dan Coats, former George W. Bush homeland security adviser Frances Townsend and National Security Agency Director and U.S. Navy Admiral Michael Rogers, according to a top transition source.

Trump met with Coats, a Republican from Indiana, at Trump Tower on Wednesday to discuss the position, according to the source, who requested anonymity because the selection hasn't been finalized. Earlier this week, Trump met with Townsend.
The meetings come as there continues to be intense speculation on who Trump will select for secretary of state. The short-list includes 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney; former-CIA director David Petraeus; and Senator Bob Corker, a Tennessee Republican.
Trump also met with former World Wrestling Entertainment boss Linda McMahon earlier today to discuss her serving as chair of the Small Business Administration.
