National Testing Agency is likely to release the provisional answer key for JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 today, April 11, through candidate login. The update is important for lakhs of candidates waiting to match responses and estimate scores after the exam ended this week.

The computer-based test was held in India and abroad from April 2 to April 8, 2026. Examination papers had already been shared through candidate login on April 9, giving students access to every shift paper for review.

Once released, the preliminary answer key for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.) and recorded response sheets will allow candidates to check answers and challenge disputed questions. Candidates can file objections online within the given window by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question.

Key Process

The provisional key is the first official response sheet issued after the exam. It helps students compare answers before the final key and results are announced.

After reviewing objections, the agency is expected to publish the final answer key. Results for Paper 1 of JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2 are expected by April 20.

Final Rank

The final ranking will be prepared using the best score secured by candidates across both sessions of JEE (Main) 2026, as per the existing policy. That means candidates who appeared in both attempts will be considered on their highest score.

Exam Scale

Session 2 was conducted at around 566 centres across 304 cities in India and abroad. Paper 1 recorded about 1.106 million domestic registrations and 4,229 international registrations.

Paper 2 (B.Arch./B.Planning) saw 54,953 domestic registrations and 270 international registrations. Attendance stood at around 93% for Paper 1 and around 73% for Paper 2. Aadhaar verification for both papers was nearly 97%.
