Here's how the JEE Main score is calculated
The raw score in JEE Main is calculated by adding the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics out of a total of 300. It is determined using the formula: Raw Score = (Number of Correct Answers × 4) − (Number of Incorrect Answers × 1), while unattempted questions carry zero marks and do not attract any negative marking.
Since the exam is held in multiple sessions, the raw scores are then converted into percentiles to ensure fairness across shifts with different difficulty levels. The percentile is calculated as 100 × (Number of candidates with raw score ≤ your score) / Total candidates in the session, with the highest raw score in each session getting 100 percentile and the lowest score falling close to zero, usually reported up to seven decimal places
