Thane, Pune, and other cities in Maharashtra continue to experience light to moderate rainfall since the start of this week. On Monday, Pune experienced a rare, intense hailstorm, videos of which have gone viral online. The intense hail created a unique weather phenomenon in the city that many compared with Switzerland-like snowfall.
The unusual weather event in Pune prompted the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert for the city till Tuesday, with moderate to heavy showers expected till April 2.
