The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert warning that maximum temperatures will remain significantly above normal across large parts of Northwest and Central India during the coming week.
According to the forecast issued on Wednesday hours, temperatures are likely to be above normal by 4 to 6 degree Celsius over many parts of Northwest India and by 2 to 4 degree Celsius over Central India on most days of the week.
At the same time, under the influence of a Western Disturbance, light rainfall and snowfall activity is expected over the Western Himalayan region between March 7 and March 10, the weather department said.

Maximum temperatures during the last 24 hours were as follows:
About 35 to 38 degree Celsius over West Rajasthan, Interior Gujarat, Interior Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, adjoining South Peninsular India, South Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Around 30 to 34 degree celisus over the plains of North and East India, except Northeast India, North Punjab, North Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh where temperatures were below 30°C.
The highest maximum temperature in the plains was 39 degree Celisus, recorded at Jharsuguda in Odisha and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh.
Minimum temperatures during the last 24 hours were as follows:
Around 14 to 18 degree Celsius over Jammu division, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Assam & Meghalaya.
About 18 to 22 degree Celsius over the remaining plains.

The lowest minimum temperature over the plains was 12.5 degree celsius, observed at Ayodhya in East Uttar Pradesh and Sikar in East Rajasthan.

- Western Himalayan Region (Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand)
- Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi
- West and East Uttar Pradesh
- West and East Rajasthan
Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next four days over the plains and remain appreciably above normal by 4 to 6 degree Celsius for most of the week.

Minimum temperatures are also expected to rise by 2 to 3 degree celsius during the next four days.

A gradual rise of 2 to 3 degree celsius in maximum temperatures is expected during the next four days.
Andhra Pradesh
Maximum temperatures are likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree Celsius during the next three days.
North Maharashtra
In the Northern pockets of Maharashtra, a rise of 2 to 3 degree Celsius in maximum temperature is expected during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Hot and humid conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over North Konkan on March 4 and 5 and Coastal areas of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh during March 4 to 6.
In Delhi over the past 24 hours temperatures were recorded between 29 to 32 degree celsius and minimum temperatures between 14 to16 degree celsius.
