Thursday evening at the Belvedere Club lawns in Shantigram became an occasion of reflection and fulfilment as Adani Mangal Seva marked its first anniversary. The moment recalled the choice made by Diva and Jeet Adani ahead of their wedding on Feb. 7, 2025 - to anchor a personal milestone in service and purpose. What began as a quiet, thoughtful pledge has, a year later, transformed into a fully realised commitment.
What started as a personal vow has evolved into a structured social security initiative, providing 500 divyang women every year with dignity, stability and long-term assurance.
Run by the Adani Foundation, the social welfare and development arm of the Adani Group, Adani Mangal Seva supports differently abled women aged 25 to 40, identified by project partner Youth for Jobs and verified with Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards.
Each beneficiary receives a Rs 10 lakh Fixed Deposit, created in partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI). The FD ensures a steady monthly income and allows access to the principal after 10 years, offering long-term financial security. The programme is designed to continue for at least five years, with an annual allocation of Rs 50 crore to support up to 500 women every year.
The initiative draws inspiration from Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani's philosophy of 'Seva Hi Saadhna Hai' - the belief that service must be continuous, disciplined and rooted in responsibility rather than symbolism. This guiding principle shaped the initiative's design, turning a family celebration into a sustained social mission.

The anniversary evening unfolded in an atmosphere of quiet purpose and inclusivity. Beneficiaries and their families arrived in organised groups, assisted by volunteers to ensure comfort and ease. A prayer and reflective opening set the tone, followed by a presentation reaffirming the core belief of Adani Mangal Seva: that prosperity gains meaning only when it creates lasting opportunities for others.
A key highlight was the formal distribution of Fixed Deposit certificates. Cultural performances by the Blind People's Association of Ahmedabad - including a Garba presentation and fusion music - added warmth and emotional depth, celebrating participation and dignity.
On X, Gautam Adani posted a heartfelt message marking Jeet and Diva's first wedding anniversary, recalling their pledge to support 500 newly married divyang daughters each year with Rs 10 lakh each:
"To see this promise continue with sincerity, discipline and responsibility fills my heart with profound gratitude... When a daughter's life regains its smile and self-belief, even the greatest achievements feel insignificant."
He added that he felt blessed to see his children take their personal joy into the lives of many families, extending hope, reassurance and strength where it is needed most.

Dr Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, described the gathering as deeply moving. "We have come together not just for an event, but to honour dignity, hope and empowerment. This is not merely a programme - it is an emotion. Every woman here is a testament to extraordinary strength and resilience," she said.
Earlier, Jeet Adani reflected that Mangal Seva had taught him that the greatest support often remains "steady, dependable and respectful in the background," while Diva Adani emphasised that the initiative is built on the belief that "security should endure, and dignity should never depend on circumstance."

During the event, Gautam Adani also launched Adani Mangal Seva's book, capturing stories of transformation. The evening concluded with a shared dinner, maintaining the inclusive and grounded spirit of the programme.
As Adani Mangal Seva completed its first year, it stood as a reminder that when intention outweighs occasion, its impact reaches far beyond a single moment. From supporting pilgrims at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj to serving during the Rath Yatra in Puri, the underlying belief remains constant: true prosperity is inseparable from service, and seva practiced with dignity, intent and continuity becomes a form of devotion.
