India will observe Good Friday today, April 3, a day that marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It is an important day for Christians. This day stands at the heart of the Christian faith and is considered a sacred day. Even though the day is solemn, it is called "Good Friday". This is because, though it remembers Jesus Christ's suffering and death, his sacrifice is seen as bringing people closer to God and opening the way to heaven.

To mark this day, a public holiday is declared in many states of India. As a result, banks, schools, colleges, government offices and other public institutions remain closed on this day. But not all states and union territories observe this holiday. This can lead to confusion among customers about the operations of their regional bank branches.
