The Government has nominated ITC Chairman Y C Deveshwar as a director on the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India.
"The Central Government has nominated Y C Deveshwar, as a director on the Central Board of Directors of the Reserve Bank of India for a period of four years with effect from September 3, 2012," RBI said in a statement today.
Deveshwar is the past president of the Confederation of Indian Industry ( CII).
He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Indian School of Business and the former chairman of the Society and Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
He also serves on the National Executive Committees of some of India's premier trade and industry bodies, according to ITC portal.
