Tyre-maker CEAT's chief financial officer Subba Rao Amarthaluru says the Narendra Modi government's first full-year Budget was "ordinary" and there was "nothing to like" in it.
"This Budget was ordinary, it's good, I'm not saying it's bad. The greatness of this Budget is there's not a single stink but the negativity of this Budget is, there is no greatness...There's nothing to dislike but there's nothing to like either," Mr Amarthaluru said.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley did not provide any major push for the Modi-government's ambitious "Make in India" campaign, he said.
"So the issue is we have created a great concept right from the Independence Day, lot of sloganizing has happened on "Make in India" but what is there in this Budget that makes "Make in India" a happening story of India. That is the biggest negativity of this Budget.
"My view is this that the to make "Make in India" happen there are certain things that you need, you need land, you need infrastructure, you need water, you need power but none of these issues have been addressed, so that's the biggest negative," he said.
Commenting in the RBI cutting rates on Wednesday ahead of its policy in a surprise move, Mr Amarthaluru said it was a "fantastic move".
"When you get something unexpected there is a wow feeling, Budget does not give that kind of wow feeling," he said. (Watch)
