Tata Steel's sales from its Indian operations fell by over a per cent to 1.62 million tonnes in the third quarter of FY-12 compared to 1.65 million tonnes in the second quarter.
While hot metal sales recorded 1.90 million tonnes compared to 1.95 million tonnes in the previous quarter, crude steel sales enhanced to 1.77 million tonnes compared to last quarter figure of 1.74 million tonnes, a release issued by the company said.
Flat products sales in the third quarter, however, recorded a three per cent increase Y-o-Y. Long products sale was lower due to lower availability of finished goods after a planned shut downs in the mills.
