Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) today posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 167.10 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011, on the back of robust sales across all categories.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 118.82 crore for the corresponding period of previous fiscal, GCPL said in a filing to the BSE.
"The figures for the current quarter and nine months ended are not comparable with those of the corresponding period of the previous year because of acquisitions, amalgamations made since then," it added.
Net sales of the company stood at Rs 1,344.06 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011. It was Rs 988.79 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal.
The company's board, which met today, has declared a third interim dividend Re 1 per share (100 pc) for the financial year 2011-12.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 117.79 crore for the third quarter. It stood at Rs 103.63 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
During the quarter under review, the company posted a sales growth of 30 per cent in the homecare segment. In personal wash category, the firm posted a sales growth of 31 per cent.
The company's hair care segment posted sales growth of 9 per cent in the third quarter ended December 31, 2011. The
company, however did, not provide absolute figures.
