- Tata Electronics' Hosur plant found compliant by Tamil Nadu pollution regulators
- TNPCB confirmed all issues in show-cause notice were satisfactorily addressed

Tata Electronics on Tuesday said environmental regulators in Tamil Nadu have found its Hosur facility compliant with prescribed norms, as the company responded to a Reuters report on allegations of wastewater contamination and investigations around the plant.
The clarification comes after the report highlighted increased scrutiny of the Apple supplier's Tamil Nadu plant over allegations that wastewater discharge had contaminated nearby groundwater and affected agricultural land.
In a statement, Tata Electronics said TNPCB has confirmed that the company satisfactorily addressed all issues raised in a show-cause notice issued earlier as part of routine regulatory procedures.
The company added that the pollution control board has decided against pursuing any further action in the matter.
According to Tata Electronics, water samples recently collected and analysed by TNPCB did not indicate any contamination.

The company said key environmental indicators, including Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), were found to be within acceptable limits.
The company said it had commissioned an independent assessment through an accredited laboratory immediately after receiving the notice.
The study, it added, also concluded that all tested parameters complied with applicable environmental standards.
The findings were subsequently submitted to TNPCB as part of its formal response.
Reuters had earlier reported that district authorities were surveying farmland around the Hosur facility following complaints from local farmers regarding declining crop yields and deteriorating groundwater quality.
The report also cited a warning notice issued by TNPCB in May, which had raised concerns over alleged wastewater discharge.
Tata Electronics reiterated its commitment to responsible environmental practices and said it would continue monitoring processes and infrastructure to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
