(Bloomberg) -- English Premier League soccer clubs are scrambling to make last-minute deals with the summer window for player transfers set to close at 11 p.m. in London. Spending totaled 1.22 billion pounds ($1.6 billion) as of Wednesday evening, which would exceed 2016's record, analysts at Deloitte's Sports Business Group said. The transfer market has been fueled by the rising value of broadcasting rights.
