Tech Mahindra's Vineet Nayyar has a word of caution for technology companies – transition to new technologies with time, or stand the risk of becoming history. Nayyar was speaking to Bloomberg Quint from the sidelines of the India Economic Summit 2016 in New Delhi.
Indian industries have to rethink their business options. On one hand they're going to face contraction in terms of need of technologists which will lead to the diminishing of employment. On the other hand, the area which technology will cover will also grow exponentially. So what will come out of the wash is not so clear but one thing is clear that we have to change, our way of working has to change and we should be ready to take new opportunities as they come and still maintain our primacy.Vineet Nayyar, Vice Chairman, Tech Mahindra
Nayyar said the Tech Mahindra's focus will be on retaining clients and increasing market share. "Margins are important, but relatively secondary in this regard. My first challenge is how to I adapt my company to new needs and how to still remain a player of consequence in that area,” he added.
