Chad Closes Border With Libya on Security Concerns

None

(Bloomberg) -- Chad closed its border with Libya and declared the area a military zone because militants are threatening to cross into its territory, according to the government.

Groups of militants are converging in Libya's south and the security situation has become so bad that “there's a serious risk of spillover into Chadian territory,” Prime Minister Albert Pahimi Padacke said on state TV late Thursday. The closure took effect immediately, he said.
