Iran has drawn widespread attention online after posting an image depicting US President Donald Trump kneeling before an ancient Persian king.
The post was shared through official X handles, including the Iran embassy in South Africa, and was also posted by the Iran embassy in India with another caption.
The image shared on X shows Donald Trump kneeling in front of a Persian king seated on horseback. The king is seen holding the Iranian flag. Along with the image, the caption read, “Bow down to the Iranian civilization.”

The posts received a large number of reactions, likes and views, after being shared online. The development came a day after Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social on April 7.
In that message, he warned that "a whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again". He further stated that if Iran did not meet his deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, he would carry out a bombing targeting the entire population.
The exchange comes amid ongoing US-Israeli strikes on Iran that began in late February. On February 28, Ali Khamenei was assassinated during a joint military operation carried out by Israel and the United States. He was the second Supreme Leader of Iran.
In response, Iran took control of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil supply. This development impacted oil prices worldwide and affected multiple countries.
Through the image and captions, the Iranian embassy referred to the idea of ancient Persian civilisation. The imagery is believed to be linked to Cyrus the Great.
The post appeared to counter Donald Trump's earlier remarks by presenting the idea that Iranian civilization has existed for a long time and continues to remain.
