Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stated that US President Donald Trump's peace agreement "does not bind" the country and that it is "not partners" to it, according to The Times Of Israel.

We must not withdraw from any territory (in Lebanon) that our fighters have captured, he said.

Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich claimed that the agreement with Iran is bad for Israel and for the entire free world. In a post on X, he wrote, "The joint campaign had many achievements in weakening Iran, and they will not go to waste. We will have to continue the campaign to topple the regime ourselves and in creative ways, and ensure that Iran will never have nuclear weapons."

Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir in a post on X wrote, "Trump's agreement does not bind us. Israel is not subject to the United States, and we are an independent and sovereign nation... Every time we succumbed to international pressure at the expense of Israel's security, we paid a blood price with interest. It was true in the Oslo Accords, it was true in the Lebanon agreement in 2006, and it was true in every period of containment in Gaza that exploded in our faces...

Ben-Gvir  added, "We love the USA and are grateful to President Trump. And yet, the State of Israel is not a banana republic. I say these things to the Prime Minister all the time, and repeat them in closed rooms at every important historical juncture: In historical moments, a historical decision must be made... We must make it clear: Every launch of a drone, UAV, or missile toward Israel from Lebanon will lead to an Israeli strike in Dahiya..."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the peace deal between US and Iran, while urging for restoration of peace in the region and the freedom of navigation.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, "I welcome the understanding reached between the United States and Iran on ending the conflict in West Asia, which has caused serious economic disruption across the world and led to loss of life in many countries. India hopes that the implementation of this understanding will help restore peace and stability in the region and ensure the freedom of navigation and commerce. We look forward to deliberations on the remaining issues reaching a sustainable final agreement.

European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen welcomed the agreement reached between the US and Iran. In a post on X, she wrote, "This agreement should allow for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Freedom of navigation must be restored toll-free. This is essential for regional stability and the global economy. It opens the door to broader negotiations on peace and security in the Middle East. And should end Iran’s nuclear and ballistic programmes and its destabilising activities in the region. And of course there can be no peace in the Middle East while Lebanon is in flames.

Urging Lebanon's territorial integrity, she added, "Once again Europe calls on all parties to respect Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and implement a genuine ceasefire. In Evian, G7 leaders will meet partners from the Gulf and the wider Middle East. Europe is ready to play its part. This crisis also carries a clear lesson. Once again, energy dependencies have been weaponised. We must diversify our supply routes and develop alternative export corridors to diversify away from the bottleneck of Hormuz."

I welcome the agreement reached between the US and Iran, following sustained diplomatic efforts by several partners.

A number of attacks by Israel were reported in different parts of southern Lebanon, despite one of the conditions in the US-Iran deal requiring a halt to strikes. The Israeli army launched two strikes on Khiam and a drone attack on a car in Kfar Tebnit, where injuries have been reported.

A liquefied natural gas tanker that has been stuck in the Persian Gulf for more than three months is heading toward the Strait of Hormuz as US President Trump announced that the route with reopen and confirmed a peace deal with Iran. 

The LNG carrier, which is under a long-term charter with an Indian state-owned importer, is moving into the eastern side of Hormuz, toward the Gulf of Oman.

Former head of US National Counterrorism Center Joe Kent, who resigned earlier this year reportedly over disagreements with Trump on Iran war, urged the administration to cut assistance to Israel.

In a post on X, Kent wrote, "We can strengthen our chances of this deal holding by cutting all military/intel assistance to Israel, they took every opportunity to tank this deal & will likely do so again unless we take action. We should also quietly get our troops out of the bases in the Gulf that can be reached by Iran. This ensures Iranian hardliners can’t strike us to drag us back into the fight. Indian equity benchmarks soared on Monday, June 15 as its Asian peers rallied and crude prices fell after US-Iran reached a deal to end war. The NSE Nifty 50 rose as much as 1.64% to 24,011.35. The BSE Sensex advanced as much as 1.7%, or 1,293.12 points, to 76,821.07.

China has welcomed the deal as a positive step, aligning with its long-standing call for a complete ceasefire, an end to hostilities, and a return to dialogue. However, China is expected to remain cautious, highlighting the lack of clarity on several key aspects and the need for further negotiations.

The draft agreement areement contains 14 points, which includes -

• A permanent and immediate halt on attacks, including hostilties in Lebanon.
• Completely lifting the naval blockade within 30 days, with a US commitment to withdraw its forces from around Iran; and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
• The draft includes the  suspension of sanctions on oil sales and a final agreement on nuclear related issues within 60 days of signing the deal.
• Release of $24bn in frozen Iranian assets during this 60-day period. The negotiations would not start till half of Iran’s frozen assets had been released and restrictions affecting the Strait of Hormuz had been lifted.
• Discussions over Iran’s missile programme and its support for resistance groups is not a part of the draft deal.

Either US President or  Vice President is expected to electronically sign the agreement, Trump told Wall Street Journal, indicating that sanctions on Iran could be lifted depending on Tehran’s future actions. US will conduct stringent inspection to monitor Iranian compliance, even as Washington signals that regime change is no longer an objective. 

Trump claimed that the agreement was concluded with Iran despite objections raised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sharing further details on the deal with Iran, Trump told New York Times that the agreement aimed at ensuring the Strait of Hormuz remains permanently toll-fre, with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) suspending transit tolls through the Strait of Hormuz for an initial period of 60 days.

Iran’s deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed the deal. He said that an “immediate and permanent end to the war and military operations on various fronts, including Lebanon”, would be announced starting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, posting on X in the early hours of Monday noted, "We will not bow our heads before any power, but we consider ourselves responsible and accountable to the Iranian nation and their legitimate demands," Pezeshkian wrote, adding: "By 'the people,' we mean all the people of Iran, not a specific faction or group.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region. Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me. The Leaders of the Region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real Peace.
