IndiGo is planning 10 special relief operations from Jeddah to India for the evacuation of stranded passengers amid escalating US-Iran tensions, Ministry of Civil Aviation said on Monday.
Four dedicated flights from Jeddah bound to Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahemdabad are scheduled to operate on Tuesday, the airline confirmed.
"These flights are being arranged to cater to customers who were already booked on our flights and have been unable to travel due to the prevailing circumstances," the airline stated.
India's largest airline is coordinating with the Consulate General of India at Jeddah for passenger facilitation, the ministry informed. Moreover, foreign carriers operating between India and the Gulf region are also undertaking limited operations.
The Union Civil Aviation Minister also held a high level review meeting earlier in the day. Further, the ministry stated that it is currently coordinating with airlines, airport operators, regulatory authorities.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average shed over 500 points and opened 1.07% lower at 48,456.10, S&P 500 opened 1.01% or 70 points lower at 6,809.68, while tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 1.30% or 300 points at open.
As of 10:15 a.m. EST, all three indices pared some losses. S&P 500 traded 0.2% lower at 6,856.66, Dow Jones traded 0.21% or 105 points lower at 48,872.94, and Nasdaq was trading 0.13% lower at 22,639.60.
Minutes after the US market opening, all but one of the sectoral indices traded in the red. The decline was led by the consumer discretionary sector and materials sector.
The only sector in the green was the energy sector, aided by soaring crude oil prices. West Texas Intermediate was trading over 6% higher at $71.55 a barrel, while global benchmark brent crude jumped over 7% to trade at $78.21 a barrel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said that Iran threatens the whole region as well as Europe and stated that the aim of the operation against Iran is to end existential threat.
Netanyahu made the remark while speaking at the site of the Iranian missile strike that killed nine people.
Israel and Iran launched coordinated strikes on Tehran and other cities on Saturday, in which Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also killed.
His remarks also put an end to online chatter and speculation after Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed that it launched a “surprise” ballistic missile strike targeting the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.

Etihad Airways has scheduled 15 special flights from Abu Dhabi to assist stranded passengers due to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with four of those services earmarked for Indian cities.
The additional flights will help clearing the backlog of passengers affected by recent operational constraints and regional airspace challenges. Abu Dhabi, a major transit hub connecting Europe, the Middle East and Asia, has seen a surge in stranded travellers seeking onward connections.

A small number of flights were permitted to operate from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). Dubai Airports urged passengers not to head to the airport unless they have been contacted by the relevant airline to confirm the departure time of their flight.
Hundreds of Iranians crossed the border into Turkey on Monday afternoon, news agency Reuters reported.
Earlier in the day, Turkey said that day-trip passenger crossings at the three Turkish-Iranian border gates had been mutually suspended. The country was only allowing its own citizens and third-country nationals to enter.

Lebanese prime minister says Lebanon is going to implement ban on Hezbollah's military activities

The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society has advised Telugu expats residing in the Gulf region to travel to Muscat in Oman for repatriation flights to Kochi and return to India. Ravi Kumar P Vemuru, president of APNRTS, said the society has advised Telugu expatriates living in the Gulf countries to stay safe in their current locations, adding that the stranded visitors are nervous, especially in Dubai and Oman.

IndiGo has announced flight waivers for travel to and from the Middle East due to escalating tensions in the region. Customers who had booked a flight with IndiGo on or before Feb 28, 2026 can reschedule or get a full refund until March 7, 2026, without any extra charges.
"As part of our continued precautionary approach, the temporary suspension of select international flights operating through parts of the Middle Eastern airspace has been extended. Additionally, certain other international services may be impacted as we align operations with evolving conditions...We are extending full flexibility and waivers for travel to and from the Middle East, along with other impacted international sectors, until March 7, 2026, for bookings made on or before Feb 28, 2026. Customers may reschedule at no additional cost or opt for a full refund." [sic]
The Iranian Red Crescent Society said that the US-Israeli airstrike campaign targeting Iran has killed at least 555 people so far in the Islamic Republic. The society added that 131 cities have come under attack so far in the war.
United Kingdom is setting up support systems to help evacuate its citizens from the Middle East, with an estimated 300,000 people having registered their presence in the region, the British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said.
"We are looking at a wide range of options, working, crucially with the travel industry and with government evacuation if necessary," Cooper said.

Iran claims responsibility for downing the American F-15 fighter jet, claims Mehr News Agency, Iran.
Saudi Arabia's spokesperson, Fahad Nazer said that the Kingdom has consistently supported diplomatic efforts to reach a credible deal with Iran. He's has denied allegations that Saudi Arabia lobbied the Trump Administration to adopt a different policy, stating that they didn't push for a specific approach.

The United Arab Emirates shut its main stock exchanges for the start of the trading week as the regional war intensifies. The country's Capital Market Authority said the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and Dubai Financial Market would be closed on Monday and Tuesday.
It says it will closely monitor the regional situation and take any further steps as necessary.
Another market, the Nasdaq Dubai, also said it was halting trading on both days.
Dubai is the Gulf's main business hub, though the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi is also an important regional financial centre and home to some of the world's biggest sovereign wealth funds.
The benchmark index for the Saudi Exchange, the region's largest stock market, fell 2.2% on Sunday.
Oil prices could exceed $100 per barrel if tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz is not swiftly restored, as the waterway's closure threatens to disrupt 15% of global oil supply and 20% of global LNG supply, consultancy Wood Mackenzie said.
The disruption, Wood Mackenzie said, creates a dual supply shock. Current exports through the strait are suspended, while additional OPEC volumes and most of OPEC's spare capacity - typically used to balance the global oil market - are inaccessible as long as the waterway remains closed.
Global oil prices rose after at least three ships were attacked near the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude was up more than 8% at USD 78.72 a barrel, while US-traded oil was up by around 7.6% at $72.20.
Saudi Aramco's oldest and most complex refinery has a combined processing capacity of 5,50,000 barrels per day of crude oil and condensates. The refinery is integrated with the Ras Tanura Port, which is the largest crude oil export terminal in the world. Ras Tanura serves as a primary outlet for Saudi oil shipped to markets in Asia, Europe, and the United States.

Fire and smoke rose from inside the US Embassy compound in Kuwait after an Iranian attack on the small Mideast nation. The United States had earlier issued an urgent warning to Americans there to take cover and remain indoors. It said: "Do not come to the Embassy," without elaborating.

US President Donald Trump said in a video posted to social media that the US would “avenge” the deaths of the service members and that “there will likely be more” killed before the conflict ends.

A fire broke out on a foreign ship in Salman Industrial City, Bahrain as a result of falling debris from an intercepted missile. The fire resulted in the death of an Asian worker and serious injuries to two others. The fire has been brought under control and extinguished.
Israel launched a barrage of strikes on Lebanon's capital, Beirut, after the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah fired missiles across the border early on Monday. It was the first time in more than a year that Hezbollah has claimed a strike against Israel. The Israeli military said it intercepted a projectile that crossed the border and that several others fell in open areas. No injuries or damage were reported.
Hezbollah said in a statement that the strikes were carried out in retaliation for the killing of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, and for 'repeated Israeli aggressions.'

Oil prices surged the most in four years after escalating conflict involving Iran disrupted tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global energy supplies. Brent crude jumped as much as 13% to trade above $82 a barrel — its highest level since January 2025 — while West Texas Intermediate hovered near $72. The sharp move followed an effective halt in tanker flows through the strait, as shipowners and traders imposed a self-directed pause amid widening hostilities.

The Israeli military said it launched a wave of strikes against Hezbollah across Lebanon on Monday, after rocket fire claimed by the Iran-backed militant group, opening a new front to the war.
A military statement said that "in response to Hezbollah's projectile fire toward the State of Israel", Israeli forces had "begun striking targets of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation across Lebanon."

The United States military has confirmed the destruction of the headquarters of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in a large-scale strike. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated that the IRGC had been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,000 Americans over the past 47 years.
In its announcement, CENTCOM described the action as cutting off "the head of the snake," adding that the US possesses the most powerful military on earth and that the IRGC now lacks a headquarters.
