Explosions were reported in Abu Dhabi after Qatari missile defence intercepted a missile, hours after the US and Israel undertook join attacks on Iran.
It is as of yet unclear if US air bases in Abu Dhabi and Qatar's capital Doha were attacked.
In Abu Dhabi, the UAE Air Force and the US Air Force use the Al Dhafra Air Base. The UAE had previously shut shop ond its airspace "temporarily and partially" as a measure of proactive prevention.
The 24-hectare Al Udeid Air Base in Doha is the forward headquarters for US Central Command.
Bahrain also stated that a missile attack hit the US Navy's 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain's Manama capital.
"The Fifth Fleet's service centre was subjected to a missile attack. We will provide you with details later," Bahrain's National Communication Centre said in a statement.
The regions that the US Navy's Fifth Fleet is reponsible for include the Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and parts of the Indian Ocean.
The first volley of attacks likely targeted Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameini's residence in Tehran as per reports.
US President Donald Trump said, "For 47 years, the Iranian regime has chanted Death to America and waged an unending campaign of bloodshed and mass murder, targeting the United States, our troops and the innocent people in many, many countries."
“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take," Trump added.
