President Donald Trump's Truth Social account has become a powerful late-night political messaging engine that frequently amplifies conspiracy theories, attacks opponents and reposts content from fringe social-media accounts, according to a Wall Street Journal analysis of thousands of posts.
The report said Trump's account posted at least 8,800 times since the start of his second term, with followers surging to 12.6 million from around 8.6 million. The WSJ analysis found that much of the activity occurs during late-night posting sprees, often between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
On one recent Monday night, Trump's account reportedly shared 55 posts between 10:14 p.m. and 1:12 a.m., including reposts falsely claiming the 2020 US presidential election was stolen, criticism of Democrats and calls for the arrest of former President Barack Obama.
The WSJ described the account as a “nearly round-the-clock, high-volume amplification system” blending Trump's messaging with content sourced from supporters, anonymous accounts and conservative influencers.

According to the report, there have been at least 44 instances since Trump's return to the White House where his account published a dozen or more posts overnight. One of the busiest posting stretches came on Dec. 1, when nearly 160 posts were shared in less than four hours.
The publication said many of the reposts include videos, screenshots and memes originally uploaded on X and other social-media platforms. Some posts reportedly targeted immigrants, universities, political opponents and minority groups, while others promoted AI-generated imagery portraying Trump as a powerful or religious figure.
The report identified Trump executive assistant Natalie Harp as playing a key role in managing the account's activity. According to people familiar with the matter cited by WSJ, Harp prepares printed drafts of social-media posts for Trump's approval before publishing them, sometimes outside regular working hours.
“Harp then logs onto the president's account... and posts batches of Trump-approved messages,” the report said, adding that White House officials maintained Trump personally approves all content posted from the account.

The report also highlighted controversy surrounding a deleted post earlier this year that allegedly included racist imagery depicting Barack and Michelle Obama. Trump later said he had not seen that portion of the content before approving the post, while a White House official attributed the incident to an editing mistake.
“Truth Social has never been hotter, and it's because President Trump offers his unfiltered and direct thoughts to the American people,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung said in a statement quoted by WSJ. The White House in a post on X wrote, “Sorry that happened to you.”

The analysis further noted that nearly one in 10 text-based posts from Trump's account included insults such as “crooked,” “loser,” “sleazebag” or “low IQ,” while the phrase “Fake News” appeared close to 140 times.
