(Bloomberg) -- Business services and leisure and hospitality are the only two major industries outpacing the U.S. as a whole in both employment gains and pay growth this year. Top honors go to professional services such as computer design, office administration and consulting, where payrolls and weekly earnings have increased 2.2 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively, through October, exceeding the 1.3 percent and 2.3 percent advances for all sectors. The Labor Department will issue November employment and worker pay data on Friday.
