HCLTech Q1 Attrition Flat

HCL Technologies Ltd. reported an attrition rate of 12.8% for the April-June quarter of the current fiscal. The attrition figure was on par with 12.8% in the year-ago period and 13% in the preceding quarter of fiscal 2025. The IT major's net addition of employees stood at 269 during the quarter.

SEBI Looks At Volatility Trades

There is an increased focus on the index options trades undertaken on 'at the money' strikes on expiry day. The market regulator is looking at what are called 'Exploding Volatility' and 'Killing Volatility' trades on expiry day.

Simply put, it has been witnessed that on expiry day, option premiums either jump unexpectedly, which is called "exploding volatility" trades, or fall unexpectedly, which is called "exploding volatility" trades, or fall unexpectedly, which is commonly called "killing volatility" trades.

Jane Street Fiasco: SEBI Chief Calls For Speedy Probe

In the wake of the Jane Street fiasco, SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey held a high-level review meeting on Monday, directing enforcement, adjudication and surveillance departments to step up monitoring, speed up investigation and initiate enforcement action where necessary. Senior officials from the enforcement, adjudication, and surveillance departments were present at the meeting, said sources.

Retail Inflation Eases Lowest In Six And A Half Years

India's retail inflation fell further in June, coming in at the lowest since January 2019, led by a fall in prices of several food items. The consumer price index-based inflation moderated to 2.1%, from 2.82% in May, according to data from the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation on Monday.

DGCA Orders Boeing Aircraft Operators To Inspect Fuel Control Switch

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has ordered operators of Boeing aircraft in India to inspect their fuel control switch locking mechanisms by July 21. "Strict adherence to the timeline is essential to ensure continued airworthiness and safety of operations," the civil aviation regulator stated.

India, US Resume Trade Talks

India and the United States have resumed trade negotiations in Washington, with an Indian delegation landing in the US capital for a fresh round of discussions. The talks, expected to span at least four days, began on Monday and mark a renewed attempt to break the deadlock that has persisted despite months of backchannel discussions.

When Can Jane Street Start Trading On Dalal Street?

Jane Street deposited Rs 4,843.50 crore on Friday in an escrow account in favour of SEBI, as mandated by the Indian market regulator. However, the Wall Street high-frequency trader will only be able to start trading on Dalal Street after SEBI lifts its restrictions. The market regulator, through its speaking order, had come with an interim order on July 3, 2025, that barred the Wall Street firm from trading in the Indian market.
