A former JPMorgan employee, who accused a senior executive director of sexual enslavement, allegedly fabricated his father's death to secure nearly three months of paid leave, sources told New York Post.
Chirayu Rana, 35, reportedly informed his supervisors in mid-December 2024 that his father, Chaitanya, had passed away, necessitating immediate leave to be with his family.
According to sources, Rana allegedly extended his time away from the firm by combining bereavement pay with other forms of paid leave. The time off is now believed to have been used to prepare a high-profile lawsuit against the bank and colleague Lorna Hajdini, whom he accused of forcing him into a sex slave dynamic.

Investigations into the high-profile lawsuit filed by Rana have taken a sharp turn as The Post confirmed the elder Rana is alive and well. When reached on Sunday at the family's residence in Vienna, Virginia, Chaitanya Rana claimed he was entirely unaware of his son's contentious legal battle or the claims made regarding his own death.
The credibility of the lawsuit came under further scrutiny last week following revelations that Rana never actually reported to Lorna Hajdini during his brief tenure at the firm. Internal records indicate the two employees were assigned different departments and operated under two separate managing directors, contradicting claims of a direct and coercive professional hierarchy.
The Case
In his legal filing, submitted under the alias John Doe, the 35-year-old former banker leveled explosive allegations against executive director Hajdini. Rana claimed the 37-year-old executive drugged him and used racist remarks and professional intimidation, specifically threatening to withhold his annual bonus, to coerce him into becoming her "sex slave".
Legal counsel for Hajdini has strongly denied the allegations, stating she “categorically denies the allegations” made in the lawsuit. Her lawyers told the New York Post that she never engaged in any inappropriate conduct with the plaintiff. They also pointed out a key inconsistency, saying Hajdini has never been to the location where the alleged incident is claimed to have taken place.
