Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has announced that the official website and social media handle for his upcoming wearable device, 'Temple' through a post on social media platform 'X' on Thursday. The post claimed that it is a "new class of human instruments" and that it is made to be attached to the users' temple, to monitor blood flow to the brain in real time.
"The temple area on the forehead has thin skin, highly vascularised fascia, the superficial temporal artery, dense autonomic regulation of skin blood flow, and the lowest amount of motion. All this creates a cleaner, richer signal than the wrist or hand.

The device is currently in early access according to its website, inviting "athletes, scientists, founders, doctors, creators, and individuals who care deeply about their physical and cognitive health" to "build a new class of human instruments" with them.
The website that this early access is limited to an "exclusive group".
Interested applicants can click on the 'Apply For Early Access Button' and be taken to a form where they need to fill out their personal details such as their Name, E-mail, Phone Number and Social Media handle.
They also need to write down what they expect from the device in 500 characters or less.
"This helps us better understand you and your interests as we build a curated community of health-driven and high-performance individuals," the notification says under the section to link their social media.

Users can either sign themselves up or apply on behalf of others. Applicants also need to click the checkbox affirming that they have read the relevant terms and conditions and consent to the processing of their personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy, along with receiving communications via WhatsApp and email. The company claims that personal data will remain with them and not be given to third parties.
Clicking the checkbox also confirms that the applicant has understand that they may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting the grievance officer.
Under the terms and conditions, approved applicants who create and upload content using their service give the statup "worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and transferable license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute" the aforementioned content as part of their service.
Select experts have cautioned against the use of such wearable devices to track their health, arguing that it may lead users to overanalyse normal changes and fretting over meeting so-called perfect health metrics.
Neurology specialist Kunal Bahrani said in a Linkedin post that it was "exciting" from a research standpoint but also highlighted that health date should support medical care and not create anxiety in users over normal fluctuations.
"We are already seeing a rise in health anxiety driven by over-monitoring," Bahrani said.
